What if drug discovery wasn’t a series of disconnected steps, but one continuous cycle of discovery, design, and experimental learning?

If that sounds intriguing, we have big news to share from our portfolio company, QurieGen. We are thrilled to announce that QurieGen and Rayca Precision have joined forces to develop a new, iterative drug discovery workflow that connects novel target discovery, AI-driven molecular design, and experimental validation.

This partnership is about much more than just bringing two technologies together. It is about rethinking the way drug discovery works, creating a continuous learning process where biological insights guide molecular design and experimental results inform what happens next.

How the Partnership Works:

  • Where to intervene? | QurieGen – Using its proprietary time-resolved single-cell multi-omics technology and AI, QurieGen uncovers disease mechanisms, discovers and validates novel drug targets, and investigates how cells respond to treatment.
  • How to intervene? | Rayca Precision – Building on these biological insights, Rayca combines dynamic protein modeling, physics-based simulations, and generative AI to identify binding opportunities and design candidate molecules.
  • Did it work? | Back to QurieGen – Following synthesis, the molecules are tested in disease-relevant cellular models to investigate their mechanisms of action and determine whether they produce the intended biological response. Those insights then feed back into the next round of molecular design.

The result is one connected workflow with an ambitious goal: helping pharma explore challenging targets, discover new therapeutic opportunities, and make smarter decisions earlier in drug discovery.

The teams have released a joint white paper, From Biological Question to Tested Molecule and Validation, explaining the workflow and its potential applications in detail.

A huge congratulations to the entire QurieGen team, as well as everyone at Rayca Precision. It is fantastic to see this collaboration take shape and watch two ambitious teams push the boundaries of what is possible in drug discovery. We are incredibly proud to back QurieGen and cannot wait to see where this partnership leads!
